A wild plot appears

 So just as a heads up, S-4 is officially getting canon renewed! And Sans-Serif is kind of going back with him, but also kind of not. 

See, I've always been a fan of a lot of the Undertale AUs out there, and as a result I've always liked the idea that Sans is at least tangentially aware of some of the variations, or else that the worlds interlock in some way.

So as Sans-Serif has gotten stronger, outside the controlled environment of the lab, he's been becoming increasingly aware of those AUs. And because he's basically a six-year old, that knowledge has started to overflow his head and on occasion start to make him lose track of "which" Sans he is. It hasn't been that that noticeable, since around S-4, he remains stable and everything's great! Without S-4, not so much. 

So while S-4 and Tauriel are gone, Sans-Serif is going to remain at the castle - most of his "personal" consciousness will wind up back in his old body at the lab. His body here will suddenly find itself with a mind switching between as many different AUs as amuses me, and hopefully shenanigans will ensue. 

TL;DR - prepare for a lot of Undertale AUs around the place for a little while, all crammed into the head of a tiny skeleton. If there's any particular one you want to see, let me know and I'll work it in there! Right now, I figure y'all can expect to see appearances from

-Underswap
-Underfell
-Storyshift
-Reapertale
-Altertale
-Trainertale
-Various iterations of the Neutral endings (so King Mettaton can have his agent back for a little while)
-And we'll probably see a special guest appearance by Error Sans when the crossing streams hits critical mass

So quick question! Is S-2 tagging along in mind at least, so he'll be able to interact with S-4? Because WHEE that'll be fun.

In mind, yes. He'll be there, he'll be waking up in his pod alongside his bro. The S-2 that's here in the castle will occasionally start babbling like he's back at the lab, because he kind of will be. Or at least, he'll flash over to that timeline the same way he flashes over to other ones.

Basically I really like his character development in the castle, but I don't want S-4 and Tauriel to get sent back alone, so he's going to be in two places at once for this event because I do what I want and timelines. I figure the castle tries to send him home but maybe he just gets stuck in between.

WELP. At least maybe Sans-Serif can give a headsup to the CR stuck here that EVERYTHING IS OKAY, MOM'S TRYING TO STAB A SCIENTIST, WE'RE COOL

But poor baby. I'm glad he gets to be canon updated with his bro and gets to cause all this trouble here. Don't worry, S-4 will come back to fix this eventually.

Not actually! She's basically heading over with S-4, but she's going to be invisible and insubstantial to everyone except her kids. Her own canon status is going to remain unchanged.

I figure he's got four or five different names and has spent around half his existence by now around at least one older clone of himself.

So it was probably a matter of time.

This is a plot I've been playing with for a while, but I figure this is the perfect excuse to have it, on the basis that Serif is going to want to be any other Sans than the one who just lost his brother and his mom, and so is going to be less resistant to this than he might otherwise try to be.

And Sans will probably actually stop being a despair lump long enough to help with any that are.

And oh gosh Frisk also loses track of "who" they're supposed to be sometimes. The kid who pretended to kill out of self defense, the shambling abomination who tore the entire Underground asunder, the savior and ambassador of all of monsterkind.... these things happen when you jump timeline to timeline, yanno?

But all of their "timelines" are strictly canon-AUs, meaning restricted to the Neutral, Pacifist, and Genocide Routes of canon Undertale. So it'll be exciting to see all these AU iterations.

THEY'RE ALSO BLIND AND REALLY CAN'T TELL IF THERE'S A SUDDEN INFLUX OF SANSES OR IT'S JUST ONE CONFUSING PERSON.....

ERROR MIGHT WANT TO ACTUALLY FIGHT SOME FRISKS. Fortunately, he'd still be mostly limited in power because it's still Serif's body.

(Undertale!Sans had also pretty long ago lost track of "which" Sans he was, in terms of backstory before the resets happened. Gaster being briefly in the castle helped sort him out. So he would sympathize a lot with Frisk there ;-; These things happen, yep.)

I'll be especially interested in how Storyshift!Sans reacts to Flowey - "you're really kinda grouchy, aren't you?"
